Product Certification

CSI has been operating for many years in the product certification field subjected to total independence, impartiality and technical competences defined by the relevant accreditation standards. The procedures and the criteria to which CSI is compliant, are the basis for the international recognition for their activity.

Product certification: the characteristics

Voluntary certification is a particularly effective tool for enhancing one's products; it can also represent the logical complement to the certification of the company management system since it is aimed at evaluating the specific and predetermined requirements typical of the product, process and service itself.
It is precisely the characteristics of voluntariness, specificity and independence that make voluntary third-party certification an important tool available to companies to strengthen the image and market penetration that increasingly requires certainty of performance.

Testing and verification in CSI laboratories

Through its own laboratories, CSI can supply a strong expertise in several sectors, and, thank you to this know-how, can provide added value to its services.
If the product has a certification issued by CSI, it means that undertook all the necessary test to give evidence that all the mandatory requirement of the certification rules and all the applicable standard are followed.
These tests are repeated over time in order to assure the maintenance of the characteristics. After the certification is issued, the company becomes eligible to use a specific brand.

Product certification: the advantages

The CSI brand becomes so a tool to:

Examination of the application and documentation sent by the Company, listed in the "Special rules" specific to the product to be certified. Any deficiencies and significant deviations from the requirements, found at this stage, will be communicated so that the appropriate changes can be introduced before the assessment visit is carried out. Upon request, CSI will appoint an inspector to visit the organisation to verify the conformity of the product, process or service. If the results of the visit include non-conformities or observations, a corrective action plan will be required to meet the requirements for the issue of the product certificate. After all the non-conformities that may have emerged from the assessment visit have been passed, and after the positive outcome of the laboratory tests, certification will be granted. The issue of the certificate will be followed by surveillance visits to verify that compliance is being maintained. The frequency of surveillance visits and laboratory tests, if any, is fixed by the special rules applicable. The certification shall have the validity defined in the specific special rules, on expiry the contract shall be deemed to be tacitly renewed unless terminated by one of the two contracting parties 4 (four) months before the expiry date.
