Certification of Environmental Management Systems according to the ISO 14001 standard

The environmental management system compliant with the ISO 14001 standard represents a reference for voluntarily developing environmental protection measures, from energy saving to climate protection and waste disposal.

Our auditors can identify areas of weakness in your environmental management system and lay down the foundations for a continuous and verifiable improvement process, thereby reducing environmental risks and improving your long-term environmental balance, as well as ensuring compliance with legislation applicable.

The attention of companies and administrations towards environmental issues is determined not only by the obligation to comply with increasingly stringent laws but also by the observation that the environment can be a critical success factor, provided that this is managed with a policy active aimed at improving performance and containing costs. This awareness is spreading among all suppliers of goods and services, benefiting virtuous operators.

An Environmental Management System (EMS) based on the ISO 14001 standard allows an organization to pursue objectives and implement policies that consider legal requirements and information regarding significant environmental aspects.

An environmental management system can be integrated with other certification schemes. In particular, the integration with the quality scheme based on the ISO 9001 standard finds particular advantages both in terms of documentation efficiency and in the approach to risk; integration with the environment scheme based on the ISO14001 standard has advantage in sharing the assessment of legislative compliance and the approach to improving performance in operational processes (risk reduction). In general, the adoption of an Integrated System involves savings for the company both in terms of operational management and in the overall reduction of assessment time.

The issue of the certificate will be followed by surveillance visits to verify that compliance is being maintained. The frequency of surveillance visits and laboratory tests, if any, is fixed by the special rules applicable.
