EN 16636 Certification - Pest Management and Control

Pest management and control services - Requirements and skills

The new European standard represents the first standard dedicated to Disinfestation and Deratization Organizations, aimed at promoting and enhancing the skills of operators in the sector and Pest Management services.

The standard responds to the needs, in the European context, of increasing the safety of Pest Control activities and supporting the professionalism of the operators in the sector in order to protect consumers, the environment, animals and goods.

The high professionalism and sustainable management in accordance with the principles of Integrated Pest Management (IPM), key points of the standard, coincide with the needs of the agri-food and related sector (e.g. Food Contact Material) to acquire a pest control and rat extermination service aimed at satisfying, effectively and efficiently, the requests of the Supervisory Authorities, Retailers (e.g. BRC, IFS, BRC IOP, etc.) and Stakeholders in general. Furthermore, the standard may be required for participation in calls for tender as a qualifying prerequisite for companies.
